Keep Watching for Japan: A Night of Film Screenings

A wonderful friend of ours, Aiko Masubuchi, is hosting a night of film screenings at Think Coffee on Mercer St. Friday, April 8th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Aiko is from Japan and would like to extend an invitation to get together to hear from others who are working to make a difference, and celebrate some Japanese cinema.
Thanks to Ian Stimler, co-founder of KIMSTIM, they will be screening shorts by Koji Yamamura, a highly acclaimed Japanese independent animator. They will most likely be screening Franz Kafka’s A Country Doctor, 2003 Oscar short film nominee, Mt. Head, and a couple other shorts.

The screening will be followed by a live Skype conversation with members of My Japan Earthquake, a grassroots movement working directly with those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. They will be open to any questions you may have – a good change from some of the impersonal news we are receiving.

We hope you can make it out to show some support and looking forward to seeing you soon!
